Introduction

To my Family & friends

This journal is something I want to do for no particular reason other than - because I can now I have the time - apparently !

For as long as i can remember i have had a fascination with travel, itchy feet so to speak. I have been lucky enough in the past to get a small glimpse of a few different countries and have seen some truly amazing things but if i am to be honest with myself, my travelling heart belongs right here in my backyard - Australia.

As our family was expanding and growing we always took time to take family camping holidays and tried take the kids to a different places so they could get an appreciation of travel and the diversity of the country we lived in- and didn't we cover some miles whilst singing those ageless songs & playing eye spy!

I now know that this tradition was the seed that triggered my deep desire to see more of my homeland.

Yet it hasn't been until now that I'm in my fifties that the "Gods & Moons" have all aligned and let both opportunity and timing present themselves to me together enabling me to really unleash my 'inner gypsy' and start my journey of discovering this wonderful country we call home.

So my journey will begin with me letting Bill my hubby of 35yrs come along, after all someone has to do the driving and clean the fish etc!!

In all seriousness though ' My' journey really is 'our' journey & one that Bill & I have dreamt of doing together for many years. Bill's passion for Oz like mine runs deep as well, so we are both very excited about our adventures - what ever they may be. We will of course miss our family and friends & especially the grandkids, but with the help of modern technology, even though we won't be able to give them a hug in person when we want to, we will be able to have a chat & hear about the grandkids latest schooling and sporting achievements & just catch up on life's everyday happenings!!

So here we go, it's time for us to hit the road and start the next chapter of our lives - one that i have named -
'the discovery chapter' .

And for those of you that may not have had the opportunity to travel, if we can manage to capture the smallest portion of your imaginations by showing you our photos of Australia in all her splender and beauty then we will be 2 very happy travellers!!

I sincerely hope you enjoy following us on what i envisage to be the first of many journeys & hope you enjoy the photos and the read!
